Alibaba's Qwen3-Max ships open weights with strong coding and reasoning, narrowing the gap to closed frontier models.
Open weights at the top end keep getting better. Qwen3-Max pairs competitive reasoning and coding with a permissive release, which matters most to teams that want to self-host rather than send every request to an API.
